Imagine Me Academy was founded by Houston native and  educator, Melbra Garvey. Although youthful in appearance, Ms. Woods has over 45 years experience in education. The past 22 years have been spent in Administration coaching teachers to be masters at their craft! Ms. Garvey holds a Masters Degree in Education Administration.

She is the daughter of the late Curtis J. Smith who headed the Dallas County School Board for 15 years. Mr. Smith enhanced the school district to the point where parents were taking their children out of private schools to have their students attend the highly ranked education. Ms. Garvey wanted to continue the legacy by creating a unique curriculum that was created by her teaching and administration staff that allowed children to have a blended-styled curriculum. This curriculum combines a traditional experience and a play-based experience that allows students to process information in their own unique way.
